Economy grew 2.5% in January


Ceres Leading Index (CLI) that measures the activity level of the economy showed a growth of 2.5% in the first month of the year in which this indicator accumulates one year and eight months of consecutive increases, after having undertaken between October 2008 and April 2009 as a result of the international financial crisis, it said in a statement.
According to Ceres, the level of activity continue to grow in the first quarter of 2011
. Further notes that, according to official data, GDP grew 1.5% in the fourth quarter of 2010, compared to the previous three months and accumulated an annual growth of 8.5%. ILC
The increase was mainly due to the expansion of internal variables, among which the most influential was the demand for "intermediate goods in the production process," the statement said.


As regards external factors highlighted the performance of the economies of the region.
